AT LONG LAST

After a long time I find time to blog again, more out of desire than compulsion. Inspired by the works of Mowlana Jalaluddin Rumi, these words demanded to be written.

At long last I see her again.
I exchange one pain for another.
I have suffered her absence.
Now its her beauty I suffer.
Light streams in her hair.
Blackholes in her eyes.
I just watch and watch and watch.
Those full lush lips
They move like butterflies.
Telling tales of another land.
Of places I have never been.
Of colors I have never seen.
While she was gathering memories.
I counted days and nights.
Now as she recounts, I gather memories.
Soon she would take wind, like all birds do.
Then I would begin counting again.
Replacing one pain for another.
Finding comfort in stored up movements.
Keep talking dear.
Keep me alive.
